Based on a lot of customer feedback, we are updating our Social capabilities to allow for more curation, moderation, scheduling and posting to social networks. The launch date of this will be in the next few months and we wanted to share what was coming so that our clients could review and post any feedback or requests to the feature being rolled out. As always, we love your feedback and with it, we continue to drive features that help your bottom line.
We are providing connections to Facebook (pages), LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram profiles. With these, you will be able to connect your accounts and then share directly into them, schedule it, or set it up for moderation before posting.
From any search in our system, you will be able to share the content and modify your message to the different social networks. We will be setting all of the data for the posting to occur, and then you can share directly, schedule or moderate for later.
Social Moderation and Queues
We will provide a moderation/scheduling queue for all of your Social Connections. You will be able to schedule postings, moderate before sending, or delete/modify social posts to your different networks. This will allow you to ensure that your social feeds are filled with all sorts of great content on your own schedule!
Many clients wish to curate content into a “list” and then put that list of content into Hootsuite, their CMS, etc. We now have a feature that allows you to do this. It will only be able to render to our API or to an RSS feed. There are no HTML/Template options for simple lists.
General Feature Update
- We are removing the basic sharing capabilities on our content cards and replacing it with our new social connector and sharing capability. Free plans will be able to share to 1 social network setup, while higher plans will be able to add more. If you wish to share into Hootsuite, or other social platforms, instead of using us, you will need to use the new Curated Lists
- We are launching with Facebook Pages, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram profiles. We will be adding more connectors as the year goes on.
- We currently have the Twitter Search for our Boards, but we will be adding Searches for the other networks as the year goes on. From client feedback, the higher priority was to be able to moderate/schedule content into social. Twitter search boards will require you to connect to Twitter for them to return search results.
There will only be a new API for our curated lists. There is no backwards compatibility needed in this release. Your code currently developed will not need to change at all for this update.
