Platform Release – CMS/Newsletter Connectors and Expanded Features

We are very excited to tell you about our next set of features rolling out, as well as give you a chance to have an impact on what is provided in that feature set! What you are about to see are our designs and plans for a release that will be coming out in the next 30-45 days. We wanted to tell you about it and how it will impact you and what else you can do to provide feedback to help shape the platform that you need and want.

Upcoming Features

  • Connectors

Connectors allow us to build into the platform, connections to Content Management systems, Newsletter systems, and other platforms. We current have a “webhook” feature which required developers to build the connection on their own platform. With this release, we keep the “webhook” but have added in specific, new connectors, that provide direct connections to platforms. These consist of WordPress, Drupal, and Mailchimp. No developer interactions will be needed. More connectors will be coming out after this release! Feel free to provide suggestions for Connectors in our new Suggestion area mentioned below

  • PublishType Improvements

PublishTypes are how you create different Posts, Newsletters, Feeds, etc. In our current platform, you are required to create these manually, which was a bit difficult if you were trying to do something complex. In this release, we have moved the creation into a wizard format, and given visual options to building out what you wish to build. This will make creating different Posts and Newsletters much easier, while also connecting them to your new Connectors!

  • Newsletter Improvements

In current Newsletter platforms like Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Marketo, etc. they believe one(1) campaign is a single send, which doesn’t really match with how you, the end user, thinks about it. You want to go in and build something like “Daily Newsletter” or “Weekly Newsletter”. That would create your Newsletter for you each day, week, month, etc. let you fill in all of the content, and then you can send. In this release, we have built that in for you! You can now use a platform like Mailchimp do create a recurring Campaign, where we will use one of your Campaigns to duplicate from, and fill in all of the appropriate data for you, create the Newsletter to fill in with content and even help you schedule it to send!

Check out the Newsletter Creation Slide Show above, and see the very last steps to get an idea of how it’s done!

    Newsletter Create Page
We have updated our Newsletter create page to match with Email platforms in a much better way, to allow for the recurring email campaigns to work. Check out the editions in this slideshow

Yes, we now allow you to send Preview emails, schedule your email campaign to be sent, or send your campaign right away. All of this is managed through the Connector that is setup. No more copy/paste, or having someone log into to review. This can all happen outside of PublishThis!

  • Templates

We have been providing very minimal templates for our clients to use, but this release marks a huge update to those templates we provide. After years of reviewing emails that work with all of our clients, we are now providing great HTML templates that work for Posts and Newsletters. These are all mobile friendly, and work across 99% of all email clients and versions.

Current Accounts

Nothing will affect any current accounts, but, you will see new ways to create items, as well as new default Connectors available for you to choose from. Anyone currently using our “Hooks” will be converted to using our built in WebHook Connectors. For all intents and purposes, you will not see any changes.

On Newsletters, new options will be available for you that allow you to test email, preview from within the platform. Nothing else is affected and works as it does now. You just have some new options to try out!

Suggestions and Feedback

We always appreciate feedback from our clients, and our platform reflects many of the requests from our users who are in the platform every day. We have setup a new way for our expansive user base to ask for new features and provide feedback.

We are now providing a platform Suggestion area here: PublishThis Platform Suggested Features

If you ever need help or want to provide feedback, please email Help @ PublishThis

Please let us know what you think of all of the features rollin out! Happy to modify or update the rollout if enough people recommend modifications

You can learn more about the platform, ask us questions, suggest or up vote new features on our Support site.
